Human Rights

1. What are human rights?
Human rights are inalienable fundamental rights to which a person is inherently entitled simply because she or he is a human being.
2. Why were they created?
They were created so as to give to everyone the same opportunities the same life conditions for everyone in order to make the world a better place.

3. How many human rights are there?

There are 30 different human rights, and they are classified in political, social, economic and cultural rights.

4. Which human right were you not familiar with? Mention an example where this human right is respected and where it is not respected.

“Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control”.
I’m very surprised. If it’s a human right, why does exist poverty and starvation around the world? It’s quite paradoxical. We make a list with all the human rights, and then we don’t them into practice. I know that it’s a human right, but most of the people around the world are not familiar with it, I think. There are so many places in this world where this right is not respected. When I was little my mother was always singing a song, and this topic reminds me of it. The song is titled the Streets of London, a hard one, but deeply beautiful.
